Is this really them?
When a call, a message or a knock at the door claims to be someone you love, tap their name. They confirm with their own face, on their own phone, and you see yes or no in seconds.
How it works
- 1
Pair once, face to face
Sit together and scan a code on each other's phone. It only works in person, so nobody can pair with you over the phone.
- 2
Not sure? Tap their name
A new number, an odd voice, a request for money. Keep them on the line and tap the person they say they are.
- 3
They confirm, you see the answer
Their phone asks them to confirm with Face ID or a fingerprint. You see a clear yes or no.
Fraudsters can copy a voice, a photo or a phone number. They can't confirm on Dan's own phone with Dan's own face.
We keep almost nothing
Perceive needs to know who you've paired with, and how to send you a message. That's it.
Read the privacy notice- No account, email or phone number
- Your face and fingerprint never leave your phone
- Names you give people are encrypted
- Each check is deleted after 30 days
- No ads, no tracking, no location
- Tap "Remove me" and everything goes
Questions
Which phones does it work on?
iPhones with iOS 16.4 or later, and Android phones with Chrome. Both people need a phone.
Do I download it from an app store?
No. Open getperceive.app on your phone and add it to your home screen. It then works like any other app.
What if they don't answer?
You'll see "Couldn't check right now". It doesn't mean anything is wrong. Call them on the number you already have.
Does it cost anything?
It's free during the family beta.
Will Perceive ever call or text me?
No. We never call, never send links and never ask for money, passwords or codes. Anything that does isn't us.
I got a new phone. What now?
If your phone brought your passwords across, just open Perceive. If not, set up again and pair in person again.
